L’Heure Exquise – Maurice Béjart

Theatre Baden-Baden: Alessandra Ferri and Carsten Jung

Description Program Artists

Virginia Woolf, Eleonora Duse, and now She, based on a play by Samuel Beckett: portraits of strong women are a trademark of Alessandra Ferri, formerly prima ballerina at Milan’s La Scala and still one of the most famous dancers in the world. Ferri's career is unusual: at the age of 44 she halted her public appearances, and then started all over again at 50. In L'Heure exquise Ferri portrays an elderly ballerina who, surrounded by a mountain of faded pointe shoes, reminisces about her golden years. Ferris’s partner will be Carsten Jung, former principal soloist with the Hamburg Ballet (John Neumeier), who is already well known in Baden-Baden.
