Anna Netrebko and Kirill Petrenko

Berliner Philharmoniker; music from Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky und Stravinsky

Description Program Artists

Melancholy, sadness, tragic fairytale stories about love, life, and death, icy winters, warm hearts. Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff. All of these and much more are commonly associated with Russian music. In addition, one thing immediately comes to mind: the celebrated and captivating voice of Anna Netrebko. She has close ties with the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, where she has been a regular guest since 2000 – even before her international breakthrough. Together with Kirill Petrenko and the Berliner Philharmoniker, she will be presenting selected songs by Sergei Rachmaninoff along with the legendary letter scene from Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin: "I must perish, forsaken, if you will not be my savior." Ah, who can be unmoved ...
