Thanks to her unusual programming, Camila Mandillo is one of the most exciting young sopranos around today. Under the title Transcendence, she combines works by Olivier Messiaen, Kaija Saariaho, and George Crumb to present a matinee about spirituality, memory, and transformation. The program will be rounded out with a new work composed specially for her by British-Lebanese composer Bushra El-Turk.
