The djembe is a traditional goblet drum from West Africa and is one of the world’s most famous percussion instruments. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of playing the instrument and experience how a variety of rhythms can be created from simple striking techniques. The workshop will be led by Alexander Wiedermann, percussionist and member of the band Orange, which will also be performing at the Festival. Instruments are available to borrow, but you can also bring your own instrument.
