Standing concert after the main act – a set to dance to, an eclectic mixture and full of energy. The Rainer von Vielen band is all about radical stylistic openness: "electro punk hop," which effortlessly alternates between world music, techno, and folk, even including Tibetan-inspired overtone singing. The propulsive sound emerges from a dense network of percussion and unusual sounds: congas and bongos (Stefan Wöhrle), djembe (Alexander Wiedemann), didgeridoo (Marcus Wichmann), and varied percussion instruments (Jürgen Schlachter) combine archaic rhythms with electronic beats. The group originated from a shared artists’ flat on an Allgäu farm – where they once withdrew to create an alternative model to the music business.
