Anne-Sophie Mutter

Beethoven: Violin Concerto

Presale

for everyone from 20.10.26 | 9 am

An event: Anne-Sophie Mutter performs Beethoven's Violin Concerto. The musician, who has premiered countless contemporary works, brings her experience with modern musical idioms directly to Beethoven's Concerto. In the shadow of the French Revolution and breaking with all conventions, it was written as a kind of symphony with a solo violin part. Beethoven's optimistic, monumental Concerto contrasts with Tchaikovsky's passionately resigned Symphony. Opening the program will be Carl Nielsen's Helios Overture, which traces the sun’s course from dawn to dusk almost cinematically.
