It’s a celebration every time Yannick Nézet-Séguin invites the soloists and musicians of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe to play chamber music together with him. The event has long since established itself as a small but superb island between symphony concerts. The conductor talks to the audience and the whole atmosphere is a bit more relaxed, which also wins over stars like Joyce DiDonato. What DiDonato will be singing will be revealed soon. Afterwards we will hear Elgar's mysterious Piano Quintet, which is unlike any other work: at once Romantically expressive and minimalistically restrained.
