New Paths
Dvorák and Franck
Like in previous years, the chamber music selection of the Berliner Philharmoniker will center around late romanticism and early modernism – that is, the time when Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly was written. A golden era in music history, from whose vantage point the program looks both backward to the past and forward to the future – specifically to works of the baroque and Viennese classicism as well as contemporary music. The many musical selections will be heard in the Festspielhaus and at other venues throughout the city. We wish you an exciting journey of discovery!
