Katia & Marielle Labèque, Kristian Bezuidenhout

Il Giardino Armonico

The most famous of all pianist duos plays Mozart on fortepianos. Once Katia and Marielle Labèque won the Golden Record for Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue". But a Mozart sounds more intimate on fortepianos, also more romantic, albeit in a courtly way. The French sister duo invited the South African Kristian Bezuidenhout, probably the most famous fortepiano virtuoso at the moment, to play Mozart's rarely performed piano concerto for three pianists. They are joined by the baroque orchestra "Il Giardino Armonico" - under the flutist and chief conductor Giovanni Antonini, whose ensemble name already refers to the intimate magic of the result: "The Harmonic Garden".
