It was in 2017, here at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden that blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa gave another highly acclaimed concert to mark his fortieth birthday. Small wonder that he likes to come back. Bonamassa, already a legend at that time, began as something of a guitar prodigy: at the age of four he plucked his little Chiquita guitar, and at twelve he was already playing alongside B.B. King. The guitarist’s triumphal procession began with the Gold Record in Germany in 2011 for Live From The Royal Albert Hall. His annual whistle-stop visits brought him ever-growing audiences, which is no surprise: the American has already won gold three times in this country, and for ten years he has hovered at the top of the album charts. In the USA he boasts the dizzying number of twenty-five number one albums in the Billboard Blues Charts.
