How much is the shipping fee?

A service fee of € 5 per order including postage will be charged for postal orders.

Are there any additional fees when purchasing tickets?

Prices include all charges.

Can I exchange or return tickets?

Art is dynamic and artists are only people after all – musicians continue their development and rethink their programs, an opera diva can suddenly fall ill… In such cases we do our best to react in an accommodating way, but as a matter of principle, the program and performers are unfortunately subject to change; this is in the nature of things and does not entitle one to a refund of tickets already purchased. In addition to the ticket, we recommend that you purchase ticket cancellation insurance for € 5 per ticket. This insurance allows you to withdraw your ticket purchase in case of illness or accident preventing you from attending.

How does my ticket get to me?

You can choose between different delivery methods during the booking process:

  • By mail (note the additional service fee)
  • To pick up at the box office
  • Electronically: Print@home, QR code to your cell phone, Apple Wallet
Is there ticket insurance?

Upon obtaining ticket cancellation insurance for € 5, you have a contractual right to return a ticket purchased for an event at the Festival Hall Baden-Baden, in case the ticket purchaser or accompanying person becomes seriously ill or cannot attend due to accident, or in case of death of immediate relatives of the ticket purchaser or accompanying person.

In order to recognize this right to cancellation, the Festival Hall Baden-Baden must be informed of the circumstances two hours at the latest prior to the beginning of the event for which the ticket was purchased. The cancellation notice must then be submitted within the following four weeks, accompanied by the ticket cancellation insurance certificate, original ticket, and an attestation.

The ticket cancellation insurance must be purchased at the same time as the ticket and cannot be obtained afterward.

Ticket cancellation insurance is not offered for entertainment events.

Are standing room tickets also available?

Standing room tickets for sold-out concerts will only be made available at the box office on the night of the performance. For Information, please call +49 (0) 72 21/30 13-101.

Are supertitles visible from every seat?

Unfortunately, seats in rows 23 and 24 of the orchestra seating area have limited visibility for supertitles.

Are there places with restricted visibility?

The second row in the boxes as well as all seats on the second side balcony have restricted visibility. Particularly high seat rows are located on the second tier, which has very restricted visibility. For detailed seating assistance, please contact our Ticketing Service Center.

Are there any special discounts if I order tickets for several events at the same time?

With an individual subscription you are not only able to choose and secure tickets for all your favourite performances; you can also make a considerable saving. An individual subscription is dependent on the number of different performances chosen. For a simultaneous purchase of 4-6 tickets for different performances, you will receive a discount of 10% off the original ticket price. For a simultaneous purchase of 7-9 tickets for different performances, you will receive a discount of 15% off the original ticket price. For a simultaneous purchase of 10 tickets or more for different performances, you will receive a discount of 20% off the original ticket price.

The benefits of an individual subscription can also be used for concession tickets. Within an individual subscription, both regular priced tickets and concession tickets can be combined. A combination of different seating categories is always available. Please note: All performances must be booked on the same day. Pooling individual bookings after purchase does not count as an individual subscription. Unfortunately it is not possible to book an individual subscription online.

Cloakrooms are located on the ground floor and on the second and third levels.

How do you listen to classical music? What is an opera, a string quartet, a pas de deux all about?

Two introductory lectures (15 – 20 minutes) are offered before each classical event as well as many jazz and entertainment programs. The first introductory lecture begins 80 minutes before the start of the event and is repeated 50 minutes before the start of the event.

The introductory lectures take place on Level 3. Since the number of seats is limited, the Festspielhaus offers the possibility to reserve seats by phone at +49 (0) 72 21/30 13-101. The cost is €5. Unused reservations expire at the beginning of the lecture.

Is there a lift at the Festspielhauis?

Yes, there is a lift in the foyer that takes you to any level of the Festspielhaus.

Can I get a booster seat for my child?

For our "little" guests, we offer a comfortable alternative to Mom's or Dad's lap. The Festspielhaus has a limited number of child seats. These are available free of charge for a deposit at our shop on the ground floor.

Can I rent opera glasses?

From whichever seat you experience an event in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, you will be able to hear and see it well. Of course, there are differences that arise from the position of your seat. We are happy to provide you with opera glasses for a rental fee of €2.50 (plus €27.50 deposit). Opera glasses are available at our shop on the ground floor as well as at the bars.

Headphones / Induction receivers for hearing aids

For wheelchair users

If needed, you can rent a wheelchair for the event. You may reserve one free of charge via our service hotline +49 (0) 72 21/30 13-101. It will be provided in the Festspielhaus underground car park; you will only need to bring your seat cushion with you.

Parking spaces

Disabled parking spaces are located in the underground car park and east of the Festspielhaus. So that you can park comfortably in the underground car park, we recommend arriving early due to heavy traffic and possible parallel events in Baden-Baden.

Toilets

Handicapped-accessible toilets are located in the east wing of the Old Train Station (Alter Bahnhof). Entering the box office from outside, turn left.

Discounts for the severely disabled

The severely disabled (70% and above) are entitled to a discount for tickets to Festival Hall events. For discounts, ID cards are to be presented at the entrance without being asked.

Located on the side of the orchestra seating area, eight seats for wheelchair users are offered in price category 5. In lieu of a discount, an attendant/helper can be brought along free of charge.

Regulations may differ for entertainment events. Seats for wheelchair users can only be booked directly through the Festival Hall and not on the internet. Please feel free to call our ticket hotline at +49 (0) 72 21/30 13-101.

Your visit

Please arrive on time and come a few minutes earlier than you would normally expect. In this way you can take your seat at your leisure and enjoy the wonderful ambience in the Festspielhaus.

Depending on the performance, admission for latecomers (after the start of the performance) into the hall is only possible to a limited extent or not at all. In this case, you have the opportunity to watch and listen to the concert in our latecomer admission lounge; if there is an intermission, you can then take your booked seats.

If, in exceptional cases, you have to leave the performance for compelling reasons or to visit the restrooms, please do so quickly and quietly. In these cases, the latecomer admission options come into effect.

Enjoy the performance: We ask you to avoid anything that could disturb or distract the artists and the audience – including conversations with the person sitting next to you. Ringing mobile phones and taking photos are also extremely disrupting. Photo, film, and audio recordings of the performances are strictly not permitted for copyright reasons.

For safety reasons, you may not bring large clothing items or bulky objects (e.g. backpacks, large bags, stick umbrellas, etc., see terms and conditions) into the hall. Please deposit them in your vehicles or drop them off in the cloakroom.

You can eat and drink at any time before and after the performance as well as during the intermission in the entire foyer area or in our AIDA restaurant. Food and drink cannot be taken into the hall.

As in all public buildings, smoking is prohibited.

Out of consideration for all guests and the artists, our admission staff is required to implement our instructions and, if necessary, to point them out to you.

One more request: According to good custom, a performance is only finished when the artists have received their deserved final applause. For this reason, we ask you to wait respectfully for the opening of the hall doors.

Parking garage at the Festspielhaus

To avoid possible traffic congestion during departure, we recommend that you round out your evening at the Festspielhaus with a meal.

The car park at the Festspielhaus is a public car park operated by Stadtwerke Baden-Baden. Please understand that if it is particularly busy, we cannot guarantee parking.

In the Festspielhaus parking garage, digital parking is usually possible with the EasyPark app. It is important to activate the license plate recognition in the app (via "CameraPark" – after you have recorded your license plate) in order to register your car at the entrance.

On days of classical events, you can take advantage of fixed rate parking and purchase exit tickets at the Festspielhaus. In this case, please deactivate the license plate recognition in your EasyPark app. This prevents double billing.

Please note that we do not offer fixed rate parking for entertainment events, matinees, and concerts where you are seated directly on our stage. You can avoid waiting times at the ticket machines by using the EasyPark app. Thanks to license plate recognition, the payment process can be conveniently done digitally – without having to queue at the ticket machine. Sustainability

Consultation on climate protection and energy efficiency through municipal guidelines!

The Non-Profit Association for the Acquisition and Subsequent Right of Use of the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden mbH (gGENF mbH) sees the protection of resources as one of its fundamental tasks and missions. For this reason, a consultation on energy efficiency was carried out during the period from May 2024 to October 2025, supported by municipal guidelines.

Within the scope of this project, the energy consumption of our property and vehicle fleet in recent years has been recorded and analyzed, and possibilities for improved energy use have been developed. The first implementation measures have already been initiated.

With the National Climate Initiative, the Federal Government has initiated and supported numerous projects since 2008 that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Its programs and projects cover a wide range of climate protection activities: from the development of long-term strategies to concrete assistance and investment-related incentive measures. This diversity guarantees good ideas. The National Climate Initiative contributes to establishing climate protection locally. It benefits consumers as well as companies, municipalities, and educational institutions.
