Just how do the Bamberger Symphoniker do it? This orchestra of a medium-sized Bavarian city is considered one of the world’s best. For the "Bambergers," a tradition of sound honed over decades is combined with a flair for finding highly talented young conductors: Czech maestro Jakub Hrůša, the orchestra’s chief conductor, is a stroke of luck – just like the exceptional Italian pianist Beatrice Rana, who will be performing Tchaikovsky's popular First Piano Concerto.
