A man is sitting in front of a dark background, wearing a black top. He is holding his face in his hands and looking to the side.
Currentzis’ Rameau explorations are legendary and have also been acclaimed at the Festspielhaus. Now the conductor dedicates a new program to the "French Bach," conjuring up his sound world again – in the truest sense of the word: Rameau is regarded as a "magician," someone who elicited unheard-of sounds from the Baroque orchestra. No wonder, then, that Currentzis, himself a magician among conductors, continues to be galvanized by this composer, sweeping his audiences along into a whirlwind of emotions.
