The deep impression left by John Neumeier's ballets comes down to the choreographer’s very personal approach. For the first rehearsal of his Requiem, for example, he asked his dancers to bring along a personal item. These objects became a part of the production – and helped the dancers to get involved personally, in keeping with Mozart's music, which has always touched listeners so directly. In this way, grief becomes visible and hope tangible – a tranquil and intensive experience between parting and an inner new beginning.
