Simon Rattle, one of the most celebrated conductors of our time and a long-time friend of the Festspielhaus, has always engaged not only with the great symphony orchestras, but also with special ensembles working with the insights of historical performance practice. Together with the Freiburger Barockorchester, he combines interpretative experience with stylistic curiosity – opening up a fresh and searching view of Bach's monumental passion.
