For Amala Dianor, hip-hop was a “school of life”: as a child from Senegal growing up in France, he found a place of freedom in dance battles and street dance. From this experience he developed an unmistakable signature, which is also clearly seen in Level Up. The piece featuring eleven international dancers from the clubbing scene combines street dance from India, Korea, South Africa, France, and the USA, where it’s all about party atmosphere with DJ. In addition, the female duo M&M merges Jamaican dancehall with contemporary dance – another expression of artistic dialogue between different worlds.
