This is the advantage of a festival dedicated to John Neumeier: immediately after its Hamburg premiere, the new dance piece for the National Youth Ballet of Germany can be seen in the Festspielhaus. At the time of printing, a choreography is being produced for the National Youth Ballet of Germany by Silas Farley, a former dancer of the New York City Ballet and winner of the John Neumeier Award for Choreography. The second work on the program is a tribute to John Neumeier, the founder and artistic director of the National Youth Ballet of Germany. In John's BJB Bach, the eight young dancers dedicate themselves to Neumeier's exploration of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Excerpts from the ballets St. Matthew Passion, Magnificat, Bach Suite 2, and Bach Suite 3 are combined into a choreographic mosaic. The music will be performed live.
