Sophie Karthäuser & René Jacobs

Helsinki Baroque Orchestra

  • Sun14May17:00 H

For fans of Mozart, Beethoven, and the music from this period, conductor René Jacobs is a must. This marvelous musician has revealed these works in all their brilliance. His recordings have been delighting critics. And a veritable revolution is currently in progress: the way this music is played today, the way someone like Sophie Karthäuser sings Mozart is so completely different from how things were done 30 years ago, without even mentioning Böhm or Karajan. Are people still talking about the good old days? But as far as interpretation is concerned, we’re the ones who are living in the Golden Age.
