Mozart: Gran Partita
Weinbrennersaal Kurhaus / Master concert / Easter Festival 2017Tickets
Music from heaven
Mozart’s love of woodwinds was no secret. The way he brings them to the fore reminds us of the cherubs in Rococo painting: chubby children with wings, adorable angels, voices from above that offer commentary, flattery, and whispered suggestions. We can never hear enough of them, and the Gran Partita – a wonderful, sweeping wind serenade – evokes our admiration and delight. It’s music that makes us happy. And the cherubs? They’ll be working their magic, and not only in the Adagio…
