Horntrio: Avenhaus · Neunecker · Weithaas

  • Sun21May11:00 H

Lichtental is sacred to horn players. In the forest here, Brahms came up with the main theme for his horn trio – and so it’s a matter of pride to make a pilgrimage to the Lichtental forest, take up one’s instrument, and sound the melody. The horn trio, which Brahms wrote in memory of his deceased mother, is considered the most beautiful chamber music work ever written for the instrument. In our performance it will be presented by the best horn player in the world today, joining together with the equally fabulous musicians Silke Avenhaus and Antje Weithaas.

Performance ends at approximately 12.10 P.M
