Bel canto drammatico! Tragically and passionately and at breakneck speed, baritone and soprano exchange the most beautiful melodies and struggle for love and death, letting coloratura passages flow even during their dying moments. No one can say the Italians were lacking in gusto! And one German won’t be outdone by them in the least: Diana Damrau played a legendary Violetta at La Scala, and along with her husband Nicolas Testé, is inviting us to an evening of emotional fireworks.
Sponsors: Robert F. Dondelinger and Daniel Fisch
Performance ends at approximately 9:00 p.m.
