Everything is in flux. Join in and go with the flow.
The beginning, the end? They are nothing but arbitrary markers, life is constant renewal. This is one of the core tenets of Romanticism, which Schumann set to music in his first violin sonata, a work whose movements have no real beginning – they seem to start somewhere in the middle. We entrust this music to Augustin Hadelich’s Stradivari – and to “one of the best British pianists of his generation”(Gramophone Magazine): Charles Owen.
