The Festspielhaus Baden-Baden will conclude its autumn program with the traditional guest performances of the Mariinsky Ballet over the Christmas period. "Valery Gergiev will begin the ballet residency (17.–26.12.2021) with two concerts featuring wonderful Russian ballet music,” says Artistic Director Benedikt Stampa. Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet is on the program along with Stravinsky’s ballet music for Le Sacre du Printemps, Petrushka, and The Firebird.

The 2021 program year will be rounded out with a New Year's Eve concert showcasing Annette Dasch and Klaus Florian Vogt. The duo, who have often successfully featured in Bayreuth, will bring music by Richard Wagner and scenes from operettas to Baden-Baden. Klaus Florian Vogt sang an unforgettable Lohengrin here in 2006.
