Riccardo Chailly & Filarmonica della Scala

The great Italian orchestra presents late Romantic masterpieces.

Description Program Artists Related event

Italy is a nation of conductors. Names like Toscanini, Abbado, Muti, and Pappano spontaneously come to mind – along with, of course, Riccardo Chailly. Until recently, the internationally-acclaimed specialist in the German and Italian repertoire served as director of the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester. Now, as principal conductor of the legendary Filarmonica della Scala, the maestro will be presenting late Romantic masterpieces – major symphonic works that also happen to be highly popular.
