Staggering: with its soli and choruses, Mahler’s “Resurrection” Symphony (No. 2) is perhaps the most popular monumental symphony of them all, enjoying true cult status. Fittingly, it will be performed in our concert by a cult conductor: Ivan Fischer, whose often unorthodox orchestra seating arrangements promise a completely new sound experience.
