Isata Kanneh-Mason

Sunday matinee

Description Program Artists

Whether it’s the Tetzlaffs, the Hagens, or the Widmanns: there is a special fascination with siblings who make music together. The stardom, however, that is enjoyed by the Kanneh-Mason family in England is unique. There, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, who made his Festspielhaus debut last season, is as well known as a pop artist. His sister Isata's first solo album also immediately made it to number 1 in the U.K.’s Classical Charts. In Baden-Baden the young pianist will present Gubaidulina's Chaconne, a classic of contemporary piano music. In addition, we will hear works by Mozart, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff as well as the piano piece Cwicseolfor that was composed especially for the pianist.
