The fin de siècle is regarded as a high-water mark of European art, and this is due in part to the orchestral culture of the time. In their early works, Strauss, Ravel, Stravinsky, and Berg continually outdo each other with their sophisticated orchestral coloring – a fitting backdrop for the sumptuous voice of Elīna Garanča, who will be presenting the vocal part of the program.

The concert will be recorded by ARTE. The date of broadcast is April 1, 2018, 5:45 pm. The concert will be streamed live on ARTE Concert on March 25, 2018, at 6 pm, where it will be available online for 30 days.
