It has been many years, but now it can be experienced again at the Festival Hall at last: Tchaikovsky’s most festive ballet, and his most important from a dancing perspective, presented here in a choreography that reveals it as a virtual “encyclopedia of classical ballet.” Very few ballet companies can lay claim to the perfectly-trained dancers needed for a traditional production of The Sleeping Beauty – and none can compare with the Mariinsky Ballet.

Ballet fairy tale in three acts with prologue and apotheosis to a libretto by Ivan Vsevolozhsky and Marius Petipa, based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault.
