Program Artists

During the matinees, we present young artists whom we believe have a great future in store – or musicians who have already established careers abroad but are still too little-known in Germany. Beatrice Rana belongs to the latter category. Despite her youth, she has long been considered one of Italy’s leading pianists after winning many of the major competitions. In our program Rana will confront Stravinsky’s highly virtuosic Movements from Petrushka with Bach’s Italian Concerto. But the centerpiece of her first Festival Hall appearance will be a masterwork of German Romanticism: Schumann’s passionate Third Piano Sonata.
