Ballet Workshop: John Neumeier
The Hamburg Ballet (John Neumeier)
All events for the second half of the 2020–2021 season are still planned, but cannot currently be booked. Advance ticket sales have been interrupted. The current experience with the coronavirus pandemic has shown us that in the event of strong demand (above the currently permitted 500 guests), advance sales can only be expanded once the official approval has been given to open the hall accordingly. We will continue to publish or confirm the final program six weeks before the scheduled event.
The art of the twentieth century is not always self-explanatory. With this in mind, we are also scheduling John Neumeier’s legendary Ballet Workshop during the Whitsun Festival, with its strong focus this year on modern music. The choreographer will be talking about his approach to Messiaen’s Turangalîla-Symphonie and presenting selected excerpts. As always, in his unique and charismatic way, entertaining his audience while providing valuable insights: into Neumeier’s thought process and his way of translating historical personalities and world literature into ballets.
