Then he could make fewer appearances on the concert stage – this artist, for whom truthfulness and veracity are more important than anything else. “You only play the piano” is one of the sayings that affects his students the most. Others can pretend to be something other than what they are – Zimerman lives music. “He was always a role model for me”, says Zimerman of conductor Sir Simon Rattle. The two role models, artistic friends, titans if you will, will perform Brahms live on stage. It is certain to be a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
