This season is filled with pieces which are close to unplayable, and as such, enjoy cult status amongst the experts. On the other hand, “Burlesque” by Strauss can be recommended to all music lovers, as this devilish waltz is really a lot of fun, especially for the listeners! This piano piece - peppered with sadistic devilries - can frequently cause bad dreams for pianists and it is often in dreams that this work stays, as only the finest dare to perform it live on stage. Ewa Kupiec is such a daredevil, one who became famous with Chopin and who is now here to prove that her playing extends far beyond fine musical shading. We promise a devilish ride!
