Philippe Jaroussky & Marie-Nicole Lemieux
Baroque arias and love duets
- Sun., 24. June 2012, 18:00 o'clock
Composer: Monteverdi, Claudio
Philippe Jaroussky © Simon Fowler
Those who have released more than 25 CDs before reaching their early 30s are certainly worthy of being called a star, but are we allowed to use the “S” word when referring to an artist of early music? We think so! Philippe Jaroussky has the glamour factor combined with a wonderful countertenor voice. This evening he will take to the stage with Canadian alto singer Marie-Nicole Lemieux in what will be a celebration for all lovers of vocal music! A man with a high voice singing with a woman with a rare command of the contralto vocal range. What’s that you say? Is this combination - favoured by Jaroussky - unusual? In the present day it most certainly is! However, those who sing “normally” would hardly manage to release 25 CDs…
