Patricia Kopatchinskaja „Rapsodia“
A musical family
- Wed., 30. May 2012, 20:00 o'clock
Composer: Bartók, Béla
Familie Kopatchinskaja © Ursuleasa
So much for “violin girl”! Patricia Kopatchinskaja is a whirlwind dynamo who performs barefoot and whips her enthusiastic audiences into frenzied excitement – but she also raises questions. Following her last concert in the Festspielhaus the questions could be heard everywhere – ”Are you allowed to do that”? “Is it acceptable to play classical music so wildly”? The critics refer to her “Kreutzer Sonata” as either a “felony” or as the best interpretation of the work since Bronislaw Huberman. And this cult recording is almost 100 years old! Now the violinist is returning – accompanied by her extremely musical family – to play a variety of music from the Balkans. This is certainly not folk music to be leisurely enjoyed with your afternoon cup of tea! It is a concert where the musicians can be expected to balance on a wire without a safety net!
