Every season at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden we stage performances for which we have tirelessly campaigned. This is one such concert. “Songs With and Without Words” is devoted to what is perhaps the most astoundingly musical of genres. Included are songs which succeed in relating an entire opera within the space of two minutes, while others interpret a feeling with all its possible nuances. To do justice to this art form, we have invited along some great artists – Ian Bostridge, Martin Stadtfeld and Veronica Cangemi among them. The names alone make clear the demanding nature of this concert, and express the love of the Lied which has convinced these soloists to perform together – hoping to win you over to this great artform.
