Sometimes simply naming names is often enough: Diana Damrau, Rolando Villazón, Joyce DiDonato, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo. Well after all, it IS called the “Baden-Baden Gala”! It is not principally about name dropping though. It also concerns our promise to present the best Don Giovanni cast possible. We don’t believe in the outdated assertions that ensembles from the 1960s were so much better, and that nothing of that calibre will ever appear on stage again. We relish the challenge and invite all opera lovers to come to Baden-Baden. If the audience demand exists, it is certainly possible to present the highest quality performers today – come and see if we live up to our claim!
