Baden-Baden

The opening of the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden in 1998 marked the beginning of a new era for the city of Baden-Baden. Famous for its historical significance as one of the great spa towns of the 19th century, Baden-Baden now enjoys a reputation for its outstanding range of cultural attractions and activities. The public art gallery is well known for its excellent exhibitions, and two new museums, the Frieder Burda Museum and the Museum of 19th Century Art and Technology, have opened in the last decade. This cultural revival has given a boost to the local tourist industry and spurred construction of a number of new hotels.
