Festspielhaus Baden-Baden

Jarrett & Peacock & DeJohnette

For over two decades, Keith Jarrett (piano), Jack DeJohnette (drums) and Gary Peacock (bass) have been performing together in one of the world’s most renowned jazz trios. Keith Jarrett - who once turned down the opportunity to study classical music with Nadia Boulanger, preferring instead to commence his career as a bar pianist – describes the phenomenon of this trio formation: “I feel that we are an underground band that has, by accident, a large audience. Because we are never conformists, we are always radical, even though we may be playing what people think they know.” The three ingenious musicians will present their only concert in Germany this year on Friday, July 9th, 20 o'clock in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. Although - or perhaps because - Jarrett, Peacock and DeJohnette represent three entirely different characters, they complement each other perfectly. “We are different people, and the alchemy we get when we play together comes from our separate natures. We’ve been together so long, we understand each other’s language, and we trust each other 100%.” ›› Tickets

"People can call me a classical violinist if they want to; I see myself as a musician who simply plays music – and not just any kind of music." Nigel Kennedy is famous for his cross-genre projects, and in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden will combine music from Johann Sebastian Bach and Duke Ellington. Together with the Orchestra of Life, Kennedy is sure to find the ideal fusion of baroque and jazz at this concert. ›› Tickets for Nigel Kennedy
